Here is some info about your coaches:
JOSH SUEN:
Josh has been a runner since his middle school days, where he was heavily influenced to run by older family friends and relatives. He was also very overweight at the time so he had extra motivation, dropping from 220 lbs to 155lb during his high school career.
He was well trained by cross country and track & field Long Island powerhouse Syosset High School under Bart Sessa and Rich Cafiero and was teammates with several all county, state, and american athletes. He finished his high school career with times of 5:09 in the mile and 19:42 5k.
Josh would continue his passion for running by being a member of the Binghamton University Running Club (BURC), competing at numerous regional, national, and road races. He would finish his career running 18:56 5k, 31:17 8k, 40:01 10k, and 1:31 half marathon.
As Josh began to prepare to leave college, he started training for longer distances including finishing 2 marathons with a best of 3:45 and plans to run a marathon in each state one day.
In addition, Josh has given back to the running community over the years by being a camp counselor at The Running School co-operated by his former high school coach, a member of Team Confluence Running Store, mentoring several BURC and Syosset runners, and as an assistant cross country and track coach at Windsor, NY, where he has brought several athletes to compete in the post season.
Josh has a great deal of knowledge when it comes to training for running events up to the marathon, including advice on how to and treat numerous injuries. He has a lifelong passion for the sport and would like to help you reach your personal goals.
I am a current Graduate Student at SUNY Cortland in Outdoor Recreation Management and I am a professional trail/mountain runner and snowshoe runner. I ran high school xc and track at South Brunswick in Central New Jersey than had the chance to run at the University of Oklahoma. From there I ran for a running store team in Norman, Oklahoma called OK Runner. I helped to coach both student athletes as a Volunteer Assistant for the Cross Country and Track Teams while at the University of Oklahoma as well as help to coach local running groups affiliated with OK Runner. From there, I met great friends and developed my ability into a top-notch performer. I hope to continue my success in trails, mountains, and snowshoe as I look to be the very best in America and maybe the world. I am now the main trail/mountain running brand ambassador for Mammut, which is an alpine outdoor lifestyle company. I am excited about showcasing Mammut's great apparel and gear, as well as bring the company's name out to the mainstream market of trail running. I have some sponsors and pro deals with: Mammut (my full title sponsor!), Acidotic Racing, Karhu/Craft, Redfeather Snowshoes, Boom Nutrition (Formerly Carboom) and Fits Socks.
My Coaching Focus is on endurance events and race-specific training not to mention applicable running gear outfitting. I understand what it takes to perform at the highest level and to simply enjoy running as an activity you will enjoy for the rest of your life. I will help to get you race-ready for your next big event and will help instill a program with Josh that will allow for you to continuously improve your fitness, racing strategies, and overall well-being.
My Accolades include 2013 7th Fastest 50 mile time in North America (5:47:23 at Can-Lake 50)
Numerous records in race distances from 5k up to 50 miles.
